These four pieces, belonging to the body of work “resonance”, explore the profound connection between women and the natural world. Each piece serves as a visual narrative, intertwining the essence of femininity with various elements of nature—particularly ones found and appreciated in Kristin's day to day life. Through vibrant yet earthy colors and silhouetted figures of thick impasto strokes, Kristin aims to capture the strength, resilience, and nurturing spirit of women, paralleling their experiences with the cycles and rhythms of the natural environment. The series invites viewers to reflect on how women, like nature, embody beauty, vulnerability, and power, ultimately celebrating their roles as caretakers of both life and the earth.

Much of Kristin's previous work is largely figurative—with these pieces, she wanted to experiment with stripping back the figures to vague shapes and streaks of color. By returning these forms to a more raw, organic expression, she seeks to deepen her understanding of their origins and foundations, creating a platform for further exploration in both ambiguous and figurative directions.

“resonance” speaks to the deep, often unspoken harmony between women and nature—a connection that vibrates beneath the surface of both subject and symbol.
